Spotted in San Francisco is a 1969 BMW 2002 Race Car for $19,500 USD. This car raced with the San Francisco Region SCCA from 1994 to 2014. It has had numerous ITB Championships and over 50 class victories as well as LAP records at Laguna, Sonoma, and Thunderhill. The motor was built by Terry Tinney and the car includes a spare block, head, differential, and 3 sets of wheels. It is currently licensed in California but is under non-op status. The seller states this is an extra nice car cosmetically with a very straight body and always well maintained. I have always wanted a BMW 2002 street car but maybe a sorted out race car would be a better option.
What do you think of this car?
A real RS pump will have an unmolested ID tag number on top.

The ID tag on the governor section shows: EP / RLA 1/51 R.
The pump section shows: PED6KL 60/120 R3 X.
The date stamp on the pump casting will be a 72 to 74 date.
This MFI Pum was built in the 52nd week of 1972.
Here are 46 IDA WEber Carburetors for sale in Los Angeles. These are made in Italy and came off a running Porsche RSR/906 engine about 2 years ago. These are correct for a Porsche 906 with a 3.0 or 3.2 liter engine. They have been sitting on a shelf and have very little carb time. No corrosion or porosity. They come with Vintage K & N complete filters.
Here is a Ferrari 355 Challenge Official Brake Set found for sale in Italy. Perhaps someone is parting out a Challenge Car… There seem to be more Challenge parts for sale these days. These are genuine calipers and rotors made the 355 Challenge cars and good condition. These parts are extremely rare and were also found mounted on the Ferrari F40 Competition Cars such as the LM GT and GTE. These are not cheap but what a cool set of brakes but I do believe they will not last.
California Car | Recent Major Service
This wont last long at all. Here is a 1984 Ferrari 512BBi with only 9,000 miles. So few cars can qualify for California making this car a rare breed. The dealer says this has been owned since 1987 and includes its manual, jack, and spare. Im happy to hear the major service was recently performed with the service receipt included. It was sitting for a very long time prior to getting its service. This really wont last long , its an amazing low mileage car. I am very tempted myself.
These are 2 working projects on my plate. Both will receive the Big Engine Out Service which will be detailed here in the future. I am hoping there will beno big surprises but will be worthwhile fun and interesting adventure to say the least. Can’t wait to dig in and get started!
