1955 Porsche 550 Spyder by Beck
Spotted in Scottsdale, Arizona is a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder by Beck for $38,500 USD. Chuck Beck created the beck spyder kit car in the 1990s. This is an early example #10 and completed in 1990. It was also titled as a 1955 Porsche. Most buyers chose VW drive trains for their spyders but this car has a real Porsche 356 engine. The transmission is a 4 speed taken from a VW. Unlike the original cars that were made of aluminum , the beck spyders were fiberglass bodies. This ca looks more authentic due to its plexiglass windscreen rather than a speedster windscreen which is all wrong. These are fun cars to drive up Highway 1 along the California coast for not a lot of money.
