Mercedes 500GE: Stainless Steel Brake Line Upgrade
I am in the process of planning my 1993 Mercedes 500GE restoration. The 500GE has been a lot of fun to own and it is time to see what can be done to improve the braking system. It has disc brakes up front but still has drum brakes in the rear. I researched the idea of upgrading to disc brakes but it seems to be a very involved upgrade.  Unfortunately, I do not have access to mechanics with G Wagon expertise especially with this model that never officially came to the USA.  I have had the brakes flushed when I got the car just to establish a base line for my future maintenance work.  My next task is to purchase stainless steel brake lines to see if that will help with pedal feel.  Its been brought to my attention that the correct brake line kit for the 500GE is the same as the G320 so I will start gathering the parts I need. According to the diagram , the brake kit will include lines number 14 and number 35. It is also recommended that I replace the differential hose which is another number 35 line.
