I was very excited to see this 1958 356 Speedster for sale because I have been looking for a good restoration candidate for a long time. Â I thought this was it, Â but then realized it was non matching numbers car which is at the top of my checklist. Â Maybe the original engine can be reunited with this car one day. Â Â I love these cars. Â They are so fun to drive. Â It takes you back to a different time and its just so enjoyable. Â Â I have never stopped wanting to own a 356 again. Â Â The restoration on this car was done in 2000 by European Collectibles. Â The upholstery was redone by Autos International. Â Â It looks to be in great shape and will be enjoyed for many years by the new owner.
Porsche 1951 356/2 Gmund SL
I was able to see this car in person at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance this year. Â Â It had an incredible story behind it as well. Â Â Porsche has a replica at the Porsche Museum all these years because they could not find the original. Â Â This car had its top cut off and raced in California all these years as a red roadster. Â No one knew this was the 356SL that won Le Mans! Â Â What a great find!
