Spotted for sale in California is a MERCEDES SL600 V12 AMG R129 M120 V-12 CONVERTIBLE for $16,999

Hard to find, Limited Production, Mercedes 1997 Sl600 Roadster with M120 V12. In Brilliant Silver Metallic, optioned with the “SL 1” Sport package (AMG body), Two Tone Gray/Black interior with Burl Wood Trim. Upgraded Brembo Calipers and larger SA 334mm rotors. It has been garaged it’s whole life. Just put new Pirelli tires for a trouble free new ownership. You won’t believe just how smooth this car drives. I took a picture of inside of the engines lower casting/oil pan area, you can see there is absolutely NO sludge whatsoever in this motor. Still looks new inside! Always run on recommended MBZ synthetic. Car is currently registered thru December and passed smog check perfectly a week ago. Completely clean title&carfax. Passes all tests on MBZ Xentry/HHT testing.

Only reason I’m selling is I purchased an R231 SL550 a few years ago. My wife prefers to drive the Sl550 and we don’t drive enough overall, to justify storing, maintaining both cars. This car deserves to be driven!

The 97’s have NONE of the electrical issues of the older pre-95 cars with the “bio-degradable” wiring harnesses. This car also has the Coil On Plug engine so cheapest/easiest to maintain. It has been trouble free for all of my ownership. Just voluntary preventative maintenance items and upgrades. Everything works. No issues…

Upgraded with Brembo Front Brake Calipers & cross drilled Zimmermann rotors with Akebono Ceramic brake pads (front and rear, see pictures)

Impeccably maintained. Everything works! Both tops in good shape. AC Blows very cold. BOTH KEYS and owners manual. The leather is not ripped and never been dyed it is all original and still looks good. All front timing cover, valve cover, and oil pan seals recently replaced (@ about 85k miles) with the upgraded green seals. Also did water pump at that time.

This car does NOT leak any oil/fluid whatsoever!
Hard to find for the vintage V-12’s unless they’ve had seals/gaskets re-done.

Latest (90K) maintenance item is: just finished rebuilding the ADS-II suspension. Has new Mercedes Accumulators (Front/Rear) & new front strut mounts. At the same time replaced rear hub bushings. As a bonus, I recently came across a set the impossible to find, AMG driving lights for the front bumper. These are brand new Mercedes Factory Units! Xenon lights all look brand new now. No road pitting. Also have a set of Euro turn signal lights for the car. I planned to keep this car so it was maintained with that goal in mind : )
Currently it has 90,470 miles. I purchased the car 18 years ago with 45k mi. (I’m second owner)
I drove it as a weekend/touring car, just roughly 2.5k mi. per year.

This car is ready to drive anywhere! Drive it all summer and sell for a profit! These cars are appreciating rapidly as people have realized what a solid car they are. Especially compared to the newer, more complex, turbo charged vehicles.

If you’re looking for an SL, you will love this fantastic machine, much rarer than the more common SL320 or SL500 you typically see.
