This is a 3.5 CSL recreation of the Alexander Calder inspired ‘Art Car’ the original version that ran at Le Mans in 1975,now in The BMW Heritage Collection. This car was built from a superb rust free CSL shell , 347 h.p. Motor 5 speed ZF close ratio gearbox ,centre lock BBS wheels new HTP papers . Back in 2011 this superb tribute car was for sale in Queensland, Australia for 350,000 AUD/ $255,000 US Dollars. Its made its way to the UK and is up for sale again. It was in right hand drive configuration back then and has been converted to left hand drive.
The Art Car designed by Alexander Calder was driven in the 1975 Le Mans 24-Hour Race by the American Sam Posey and the Frenchmen Jean Guichet and Herve Poulain. This was the first and only occasion on which this automobile was to take part in the race. After seven hours, the car had to retire due to a damaged drive shaft, and has been an exhibit ever since.
