Spotted on eBay are 3 Testarossas for $150,000 USD.  The seller is in Wylie, Texas and has a 1991 , 1988,and 1988 Testarossas in various conditions up for auction.  All 3 cars need alot of work with the black one showing to be in the best one.   One of them has a rebuilt Texas Salvage Title which be better off as a parts car.  Seller admits this cars are not perfect and cautions bidders that they will all need alot of work to return to top working order.   This is definitely a unique opportunity and needs to be looked into.  I would want to see these cars in person and take an honest assessment of their conditions and needs for restoration.

Number 1 : Â 1991 Testarossa
- Black with Rosso Red Leather Interior
- VIN: Â ZFFSG17A9M0089633
- Odometer 17,389 miles
- Clean Title
This vehicles body is in great shape with only some paint bubbles visible to eye around some localized areas of the car, all glass is good, and the body is straight with the off blemish and paint requiring some work. The interior is in great condition for a 26-year-old car with no rips to the leather seating only some light fading, as a comment I believe a good leather nourishment/treatment would make these seats come to life again, they are good.
The wheels are in good condition but not great, a refurb would not go miss, but, they will go again with a little work. The odometer is showing 17,389 miles, considering the car has been off the road for so long we have no reason to believe this not genuine but we cannot guarantee this. The engine is missing some components. We are not Ferrari specialists but have observed the following, Water pump drive, crank drive tensioner, air pump (basically the front of the engine assembly) and we assume some other sundry items as well, this is what we can see. This car was one of only 266 examples made for the US market in 1991 so is a very low production figure with only a handful remaining today, certainly one to keep for the more astute financially minded collector this. Car comes with a clean Texas Title, a no brainer this….
Number 2: Â 1988 Testarossa
- Rossa Corsa (red) with beige leather interior
- VIN:Â ZFFSG17A6J0076933
- Odometer 32,948 miles
- Clean Title
The odometer is showing 32,948 miles, it has also been sat for an extended period, we cannot guarantee this. This car suffered an engine bay fire at some point in its life and was then stored along with the other cars in a warehouse. The rear deck lid was damaged, we removed this and replaced with a good unit we found in California from a donor vehicle. With regard to the damage under the hood, the aluminum Bosch Metering units suffered so they will not be usable (but are available on eBay). Vacuum hoses and cable shrouding will also require attention. The engine itself is very black from smoke and will look a lot better from a steam clean. The deck lid was not the only casualty, the rear window popped, and the seats and headlining suffered from flame and smoke damage. The steering column is locked on and will not come off, the transmission is also missing. With all of this being said, this car comes with a clean Texas title and is a fantastic entry level project that will see someone on the Testarossa ladder.
Number 3 : Â 1988 Testarossa
- Rossa Corsa (red) with beige leather interior
- VIN: Â ZFFSG17A9J0076473
- Odometer 13,574 miles
- Texas Salvage Title
Body is good, with the paint good at the front but someone has already removed paint on the rear quarters and deck lid in anticipation of re painting the car, this however is as far as they got. The windshield is in great shape as are the rear quarter glass and rear screen however the side door glass is missing. The seats are in great shape and will require some TLC to bring back to life, the carpets are very nice but would benefit from a good wet vac. The wheels on this car are the chrome finished items and are also great shape. The door strikers are missing from the car so the doors do not hold shut themselves. The front lower bumper is missing as well as some trim pieces. Please view the images carefully, what you see is what you get.
Regardless of the missing pieces the motor is 99% complete as you can see from the pictures, but will require a full assessment to see what it needs. Because these are not your everyday Honda’s, we recommend that you asses them before trying to start them, as, they have not been started in a long time. This car comes with a Rebuilt Texas Salvage Title.
