This is a highly sought after Porsche by enthusiasts. The 993 Turbo debuted in 1995 and is the last of the air cooled cars. It featured a twin turbocharged engine displacing 3.6 liters and producing 402 hp. It is the first turbo car with all wheel drive. It was as close to the Porsche 959 performance in a production car. This car has always been a southern california car. It was purchased at Porsche of Pasadena, California. The owner has been in the automotive industry and was fortunate enough to acquire this car brand new when the original buyer canceled. There were only 1900 cars brought to the USA. There were 1297 cars for 1996 model year and 612 cars for the 1997 model year. The 1997 cars are definitely more rare but shouldnt be a deal breaker for a 1 owner 1996 turbo like this.

Fun Fact: Within the 1996 through 1997 production run, there were two distinct differences: the 1996 and the later ones. The 1997s had the following differences from the 1996s:
Stronger transmission input shafts (a known weakness due to the combination of immense power and AWD).
An ECU that was able to be flashed and modified (the 1996 was not modifiable).
With the addition of a Porsche child seat, the passenger airbag was cut off.
Motion sensors for the alarm that were integrated into the map light above the rear view mirror.
Standard wheel center caps that said “turbo” (the 1996 version had Porsche crests).
