This D-Type Recreation is located in the Napa Valley area of California. It looks to be a well done. It was purchased out of a collection. It has a 4.2 Liter XKE motor which is as close as you can get to the original d types. It has a fiberglass body and not an alloy. A real D-Type sold at auction for $21,000,000 US Dollars and yes there is a real one somewhere in Napa Valley. Seller has proof and stickers showing its been to Laguna Seca and has gone through the Corkscrew many times. I would love to drive this car through the vineyards and valleys in Nap and down the coast of Highway 1.
This specific car is obviously not one of the original cars but it has an interesting history. It shares some of the same parts as a real D type such as the rear suspension and the transmission. The engine is from an XKE. It is believed that some mechanics built this car in Coventry, England using spare D-Type parts. A real serious inspection of the car is in order before buying.

Update on 1/25/17
No one has come to Napa to see the car even though he received numerous phone calls from individuals that said they would drive up the next day even as far as Los Angeles to buy this car. After the strong performance of cars at Scottsdale, Arizona, the seller has decided to raise the price to $150,000 US Dollars.
