1988 Toyota Camry Alltrac LE

FAILED smog – HC & CO emissions idle & 2500RPM.
California will give me $1000 to scrap the car.

Rare care. Diff & coilovers. Asking $2000

I bought this car in 2013 with a hole in the block and put a “50k” motor in it. Since then it’s taken me to Oregon (twice) and Colorado and back, plus all over California. It’s been a very dependable car. I also competed in some amateur rallycross events (NorCal RallyX) with this car. With the diff it rotates great under left-foot braking. Recently I was working on a 3SFTE build (CT26 turbo & header from an MR2, plus supporting work), but the car is at my parents (east bay) and I live in the south bay, which has made working on it difficult. And now that it has failed smog I’m ready to sell it.

Aftermarket parts: Ground Control coilovers w/ 2.5″ Eibach springs. Rear struts converted to take a Camry Front insert (e.g. KYB 365061). ST205 Celica Torsen rear LSD. ST185 Celica rear swaybar. RRS wheel. Other misc (brass shifter kit, swaybar has poly bushes).

Spare parts: OE rear diff, OE rear swaybar, OE rear struts (NLA), original front lower valence, original steering wheel, JDM intake manifold (long runners), oil pump, distributor, clutch master.

Body: Fairly straight, drivers front fender has a kink, rubs on door. Driver’s rear arch has some rust, Passenger’s rear arch much less. Paint is good for it’s age, but not amazing. Some small dents in the hood and rear arches near the doors (froze shut in the winter a few times).

Interior: Great shape except for the following: cracked dash, missing radio trim, C-pillars cracked, trunk carpet dirty, missing 3rd brake light cover. No air conditioning. No rear speakers.

Chassis: Suspension, brakes, axles all tight and fresh. Needs new tires soon.

Powertrain: Motor burns oil, especially on hard throttle after extended engine braking, suspect piston rings or valve guides. Transmission weeps at the transfer case seal. Rear diff needs a pinion seal. Clutch is unknown age, but does not slip.

Paperwork: Clean title, failed most recent smog and is due. Sold as-is.

All my 3SFTE stuff is also for sale, would prefer to do a package deal (car + parts – $3250):
Dual-entry CT26 w/ manifold, 3″ downpipe, and 3″ midpipe
Innovate LC-1 wideband controller with sensor
Open-source standalone (rusEFI), tune via TunerStudio (like a Megasquirt)
7MGE greens (4), 7MGTE blacks (6), and some unknown Toyota yellow injectors (4)
Celica 3SGTE coolant crossover pipe and fuel pressure regulator
Intercooler (28″x7″x2″) and all the couplers and clamps needed
Automatic throttle body (for TPS sensor)
