1987 BMW M6 E24
Spotted in San Mateo is a 1987 BMW M6 E24 for $17,500 USD. BMW M6 prices have been climbing for good low mileage cars but here is one that has 179,200 miles. There are only 1,700 US SPEC M6s produced with maybe half that are survivors. The seller states this is a 2 owner car with original royal blue metallic paint and Lotus White interior. All VIN stickers match as well as all the glass. This is a probably my favorite color combination. The engine is said to run well and the transmission shifts well. The wheels are 17 x 8.5 Axis with Sumitomo tires.
Would you buy an M6 with such high mileage?
Price $17,500 USD
Engine: S38B35 256 horsepower. Runs very well. It’s very fun to drive. I’ve taken the car from San Francisco to Los Angeles twice with no issues. Transmission shifts good and the clutch grabs great. The shifter lever bushings may need to be replaced at some point. The motor has a custom cat-back exhaust that sounds amazing. Also has a K&N drop in air filter. Otherwise it’s stock. Power steering has a leak.
Body: The car has it’s original paint. All vin stickers match. All original glass. The clear coat on the roof and trunk are starting to delaminate.(see pictures) There’s some scratches on the hood. Rust free car. Still shines bright when waxed. The car has H&R lowering springs and Bilstein sport struts. It handles very well. The wheels are Axis 17×8.5 with Sumitomo summer performance tires. Wheels and tires only have about 1,000 miles on them.
Interior: The dash in almost crack free. There is one small crack that’s hardly noticeable. Has it’s original Lotus White interior. It’s in very good conditions. There is some wear on the driver side door arm rest and a couple of other small spots. The power driver seats work expect for the headrest. Has a Bluetooth stereo. MTech steering wheel. All lights and switches work. Power windows and sunroof work. Cruise control works. Heater works. A/C needs to be recharged.
