1973 BMW 3.0cs E9 coupe rare ac/sunroof model
Location: Eugene, Oregon
Title: Salvage Car
Rare Sunroof model
Price: $23,500 US Dollars
The good news is that this is a coupe with a rare sunroof option. The bad news is that this car has a California salvage title. Maybe this is a good candidate to be shipped overseas. Seller states it has the matching 3.0 6 cylinder engine which runs strong. It has power steering and power windows as well. The transmission has been upgraded to a Getrag 5 speed manual transmission. The right rear panel was repaired at one time. Seller states the rear panels needs to be replaced.
ENGINE-Original matching number engine runs strong and produces good power but could use more work.
TRANSMISSION-Upgraded Getrag 5 speed shifts well.
CHASSIs-Very clean with only minor rust…very rare.
BODY-Repaired right rear panel. Some small rust bubbles under paint. Front rocker panels seem good, rear panels need to be replaced.
PAINT-Looks good but is a little marginal. Shiny but pulling up in a few places. There are scratches on sunroof.
ELECTRICS-needs help. High beams work, not low beam. Blinkers work. Front corner lights work tail lights work and brake lights work. Heater inop. All windows work except right rear which is trying but not going all the way down probably needs a good cleaning. All windows are slow but I understand they were slow when new. I cleaned and lubed the front windows and they are much better.
INTERIOR-Factory seats are very nice with just a couple of stains and no rips. Wood trim needs work. Center console needs work. Headliner is okay but needs to re attached behind sunroof. Sunroof panel needs to be put back on after sunroof final adjustment. Nardi steering wheel. Period correct restored high end Becker Europa 2 stereo works well and has I-pod input.
INSTRUMENTATION-Speedometer inoperative. Tach. seems to read low. All other gauges seem fine.
AC-Not functioning, there is a broken hose but there may be other issues. Compressor seems to kick on.
