1960 Porsche 356 Super 90 Factory Racer
60mm Carrera GT Brakes
Here is a 1960 Porsche 356 Super 90 Factory Racer for sale in Los Angeles, California. This car was recently purchased from the seller less than a month ago. The buyer has put this car on eBay to sell with 6 days of bidding left. The new buyer has been able to gather new information on this car which is very exciting! According to the Kardex and the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Porsche this car came from the factory with 60mm Carrera GT Brakes , Aluminum Wheels, and a Roll Bar! This Super 90 is pretty special to come out of the factory floor with a roll bar installed. This car was a spec car from a German Peter Max Muler from Hanover Germany who had a desire to go racing.
This car had an incredible amount of bondo and layers of paint from years of a hard life. The seller states this car will need new floors, longitudinals , door bottoms, battery pan, front nose panel for a full restoration. This car has a 356C engine and transmission from a later car so it is not a matching numbers car any longer. The seller has removed layers of bondo and paint to reveal red , silver, green , and black paint. Its definitely a car that needs to be researched to discover the full history of a car like this. It also has very special 60mm GT Brakes which are very rare and special since they have always been on this car. Unfortunately the aluminum wheels are no longer with the car but it has steel wheels to take their place. The Headrest and Roll Bar are missing but the roll bar mounting nipples are present in car.

This car will need a complete restoration it will need floors longitudinal’s outer rockers both door bottems battery pan front nose panel for someone who wants to do a full restoration. The car has a later transmission and engine. The engine runs and idols surprisingly well. From my evaluation of the car it was raced and like many racecar it was bumped and repair on the track. The inner structure looks straight I do not think it was hit hard or crashed, where car would have been bent, but the outer body will need lots of attention. As you see the car now it has been somewhat striped and the layers of paint and bondo have been removed it show red, then Silver, green, black and then red again. This car should have a colorful history for someone who can do all the research that this car deserves.
According to Porsche cars North America it was delivered to PeterMax Muler Hanover Germany. I know this after speaking to them on the phone, they where reading the original Kardex. I ask if I could have a copy of the Kardex but there policy said that they could not. As you can see from the COA it is a very special car. I have seen other heavily option cars, but I have only seen Rollbar in GT car’s. This leads me to believe that this car was raced by someone who know what he or she wanted. I also have an article written by Alex Bivens of West Cost Haus from Porsche 356 Club of a pair of Super-90 GT’s with one being a steel panel car much like this one please see last photo. The options are listed below.
